Entry 8 (Google Classroom)

On this day, the reporting of the 2nd group is all about  I learned that the google classroom helps classes communicate, save time and stay organized. Follow these  steps  to create a  class : Open a Web browser and go to classroom.google.com. You have to sign in with your Google Apps for Education account. On the Welcome screen, click the plus sign at the top and choose Create Class. In the Create a Class dialogue box, type in the Class Name and Section. Click Create. Google classroom is designed to help teachers create and collect assignments paperlessly, and this includes time saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of google document for each student.Google classroom creates drive folders for each assignment and for each to student  to help keep everyone organized. Report of Group 1 (Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word)

  On this day, Group reported about Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Word.   I Learned that Microsoft Word is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. The basic shortcuts in microsoft word are CTRL + B = the text will become bold or highlighted, when you type CTRL + I, the word will become italic, CTRL + U to make the text underlined. CTRL + C to copy a text. Microsoft excel is a spreadsheet program which contains a number of columns and rows. I also learned that Microsoft excel was first released in 1985 and Microsoft Powerpoint uses no nmoe that 7 words per line and no more than 7 lines per visual.

Lesson 4 (PBL) October 6

On this day, we discussed about the Problem-based and Project-based Learning Approach   I learned that the Project-based and problem based learning is just simply refer to us as PBL and can be found in the textbook. Project-based is from John Dewey and William Kilpatrick, this promotes active learning, allows High-Order Thinking skills and it is Challenge based approach or research. Problem-based learning is founded in 1960, this is student-centered, students may work in groups and work in solving problems. I learned that when you are writing a problem-based learning activity, you should identify the outcomes, design a scenario, introduce PBL   while when you are going to write a project-based learning activity, you should prepare and plan, identify outcomes,research, and this includes launching of activities In conclusion, both have their place in today's classroom and promotes 21st century learning skills

Lesson 3 (Video) October 6

  On this day we learned about the different types of learning activities. Learning refers to the strengthening correct response and weakening incorrect response. Activity refers to a group of work or oraganization to achieve an aim-cambridge dictionary and something that is done for enjoyment, especially in organized event.  I learned that planning and developing activities-involves any readings, lecture, discussion, exercises, projects and other group works, promotes active and collaborative learning activities and lastly promotes outcome based and lastly, we discussed about the steps in designing a learning activity.

21st Century Communication Skill (Lesson 2) September 29

 On this day, we discussed about the 21st Century Communication Skills, I learned that this skills are generaly referred to certain core competencies such as digital literacy, collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking that advocates believe school need to teach, to help students thrive in today's World Rich, 2010.  I learned that the 4 C's are Critical thinking skill, Collaboration skills, Communication skill and Creativity skills. Critical thinking includes information and discovery, reasoning, constructing arguments asnd interpretation and analysis. Collaboration skills includes cooperation, flexibility, responsibility and productivity, Leadership and initiative and lastly responsiveness and constructive feedback.

Continuation with K to 12 Curriculum (September 21)

  On this day, we continued our discussion about the curriculum specifically, the K to 12 curriculum, kindergarten has 1 year, Primary education takes 6 years, Junior Highschool is 4 vyears and lastly Senior highschool takes 2 years to finish. In the middle of our discussion, there is a question in the slide "Are you in favor to continue k-12 curricula? why yes?why not?  For me, yes because k-12 curriculum gives students to choose between three tracks which are the academic, technical-vocational-livelihood, and sports and arts strand, this will give students opportunities to undergo immersions, have a relevant exposure to a variety of industries and lastly to have an experience in their chosen track.
