2nd entry (First discussion) Curriculum September 14

 ON THIS DAY, WE DISCUSSED ABOUT THE CURRICULUM


I learned that curriculum is often reffering to the lessons, activity and other academic content, the main purpose of the government is that they implemented the k to 12 curriculum because they want to give students more time to master their skills nand concepts especially, to prepare graduates to develop their skills on their chosen career.






 I also learned that the K to 12 education program aims to provide bevery Filipino child with the education he/she needs to compete in a global context. The K to 12 curriculum's goal is to give Filipino students enough time to master their skills and concepts so that they are ready for tertiary education when the time comes.

On this day, we discussed about the Problem-based and Project-based Learning Approach   I learned that the Project-based and problem based learning is just simply refer to us as PBL and can be found in the textbook. Project-based is from John Dewey and William Kilpatrick, this promotes active learning, allows High-Order Thinking skills and it is Challenge based approach or research. Problem-based learning is founded in 1960, this is student-centered, students may work in groups and work in solving problems. I learned that when you are writing a problem-based learning activity, you should identify the outcomes, design a scenario, introduce PBL   while when you are going to write a project-based learning activity, you should prepare and plan, identify outcomes,research, and this includes launching of activities In conclusion, both have their place in today's classroom and promotes 21st century learning skills

Lesson 3 (Video) October 6

  On this day we learned about the different types of learning activities. Learning refers to the strengthening correct response and weakening incorrect response. Activity refers to a group of work or oraganization to achieve an aim-cambridge dictionary and something that is done for enjoyment, especially in organized event.  I learned that planning and developing activities-involves any readings, lecture, discussion, exercises, projects and other group works, promotes active and collaborative learning activities and lastly promotes outcome based and lastly, we discussed about the steps in designing a learning activity.

VIRTUAL REALITY

                                                                            I LEARNED THAT VIRTUAL REALITY IN THE CLASSROOM ALLOWS ALL STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE. WHEN VIRTUAL REALITY TOOLS WERE FIRST INTRODUCED INTO THE CLASSROOM, THE TECHNOLOGY WAS MARKETED AS A WAY TO GO BEYOND THE WALLS OF A SCHOOL AND TAKE STUDENTS PLACES THEY WOULD OTHERWISE NOT BE ABLE TO GO. THE VIRTUAL REALITY CREATES AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS STUDENTS LEARN EFFECTIVELY . RESEARCH HAS PROVEN THAT IMMERSION OF STUDENTS IN THE VIRTUAL WORLD ENABLES  THEM TO LEARN BETTER.
